Future Perfect Pivot (To Substack)

Moving to Substack. For the last year I've piloted blogging here to see how it shakes up. I closed my last blog in 2009. Only recently felt inclined to begin again. Realized logging the development process for Phosfor/ Phosfor Aether would have been perfect fodder to reach likeminded designers. Looked at Ghost. Looked at Wordpress. Ultimately the discoverability part of Substack's structure makes it the right choice.

I presume it'll be better suited sharing what I'm uncovering about George Lafayette Mason, the Mason Monogram Company, and his device 21-segment Interchangable Electric Display Apparatus. All things a few layers deeper than simply niche.

So- with that- it's official. I'm recreating Phosfor from the ground up. I'm happy with how my second font, Modern Electrics, turned out. Feels satisfying that's done. But Phosfor has had this, "doesn't feel quite done" quality I'll explore in depth on Substack.
